September 28-29, 2002, Glen Ellyn, Illinois
Presented
by Triad Publishing
With assistance from The
Institute for Hermetic Studies-Voxhermes
At the end of our well-received seminar on Western Esoteric Practice in May 2002, we asked the attendees what they would like next. Their reply was "a hands-on workshop on alchemy". This seminar is in response to their request -- we think that you will want to attend this event.
We have been able to assemble the same excellent instructors who presented the May 2002 workshop.
Jean Dubuis is recognized internationally as an authority on Western Esotericism, in particular the practice of Qabala and Alchemy. When British researchers made the documentary "Discovering the Real World of Harry Potter"; they traced the roots of the myths and ancient sciences behind the Harry Potter stories. The trail of 14th century alchemist Nicolas Flamel led them to the home of Mr. Dubuis outside Paris. The result was that many Americans watching the public television channels viewed an enticing but all-too-brief interview with Mr. Dubuis in his laboratory.
Before this recent series of seminars in 2002, Mr. Dubuis had not lectured in the United States since 1999, just prior to the closing of The Philosophers of Nature (P.O.N.). From 1992 until that time, Mr. Dubuis had generously given of his time to be the principal speaker at large annual seminars and other regional events in the US that were organized by the P.O.N.
An energetic man in his eighties, Jean has been busy working on new projects and research, and is regularly teaching in Europe.
Triad Publishing is pleased to announce that Jean Dubuis has agreed to travel to the US once again, and to present a concise program that will benefit all persons who are traveling the path of alchemical and esoteric practice. Mr. Dubuis has the advantage of more than 70 years of diligent searching into the questions of "who am I?", "where did I come from?", and "where am I going?". His search began at age 12 after an intense interior experience. Today, his perspective spans decades of work as a practical Qabalist, as a leader in Rosicrucian and Martinist circles in France, and as an enthusiastic practitioner of laboratory alchemy.
Mr. Mark Stavish, of the Institute for Hermetic Studies in Pennsylvania, has been studying and practicing traditional Western Esotericism for over twenty years, and has served in various Rosicrucian and Martinist bodies. Mark is well-known to readers of "The Stone", the newsletter published by the former P.O.N., as well as to readers of numerous other reputable esoteric periodicals. His writings have been translated into Dutch, Turkish, Portuguese, and Swedish. He has frequently lectured and presented workshops for the P.O.N., A.M.O.R.C. and other groups. Mr. Stavish will be presenting a concise program with the objective of helping those who are inclined to practice alchemy and Western Esotericism. Professionally Mark is a fundraising consultant and Director of Development for a private school.
Mr. Patrice Malézé has been a practitioner of the Western Esoteric path for more than 20 years, and has worked with Alchemy for more than a decade. He was responsible for organized research for the French group, Les Philosophes des la Nature, and was instrumental in the transfer of esoteric knowledge from Europe to the English-speaking countries through his association with The Philosophers of Nature. In addition to his presentations on practical alchemy for this seminar, Patrice will translate Mr. Dubuis' lectures from French into English. He has been associated with Mr. Dubuis and his work for more than a decade.
